Center of Excellence for Injury Surveillance and Reporting

KfV (Austrian Road Safety Board) is the "Center of Excellence for Injury Surveillance and Reporting" of EU/DG Sanco. In this function, the KfV conducts the projects of the EU Public Health Programme which serve to setup a common reporting system regarding injuries of all types and their causes. The central instrument is the "European Injury Data Base" which offers information for health policy and consumer protection. Employees of KfV have acted as relevant consultants for DG Sanco for years. Furthermore, they are standing members of the Working Party on Accidents and Injuries (Network of Public Health Working Party Leader).
